Who we support

Different circumstances.
A shared need for stability.

Our intended service is for adults aged 18 and over who need a stable home and support with housing. We consider the person’s circumstances, goals and support needs individually.

  • Homelessness & housing insecurity

Adults experiencing homelessness or at risk of losing their home who need support towards greater stability.

  • Leaving prison

Adults leaving prison who need suitable accommodation and support to rebuild routines and connections.

  • Mental health support needs

Adults who may benefit from support with housing alongside appropriate mental health services.

  • Substance recovery

Adults with substance misuse histories or recovery goals who need a supportive living environment and connections to relevant services.

  • Eligible immigration status

Refugees and other adults whose immigration status allows access to the proposed housing and funding arrangements, subject to eligibility checks.

  • Building everyday independence

Adults who need help maintaining a tenancy, organising daily tasks and taking steps towards greater independence.

Every placement starts with an assessment

Enquiries are considered against individual needs, suitable accommodation, funding eligibility and our ability to provide the support required. An enquiry does not guarantee a placement. Contact us to discuss current availability and suitability.

Support arrangements

When and how
we support you.

Our proposed support is delivered through scheduled visits, with contact arrangements agreed before a placement. The frequency of visits and support available must be suitable for the resident’s assessed needs. This is not a service staffed 24 hours a day.

Staff visits

Visit days, times and frequency are discussed and agreed with each resident as part of their support arrangements. Any changes should be communicated so residents know when to expect a visit.

Between visits

Contact Stride Haven on 0121 339 5259 or info@stridehaven.co.uk. Calls may go to voicemail while the support worker is visiting someone. Leave a message and your contact details. Contact hours and expected response times will be explained before a placement; calls and emails are not continuously monitored.

Extra wellbeing checks

Additional wellbeing checks may be arranged where appropriate, according to the person’s needs, agreed support plan and staff availability. These do not provide continuous supervision or emergency cover.

Practical support

The type of help, visit frequency and goals are agreed individually as part of the person’s support arrangements and reviewed as their needs change.

Emergencies and concerns outside support hours

If someone is in immediate danger, call 999. For urgent medical advice when it is not a 999 emergency, contact NHS 111. Do not wait for a reply to a voicemail or email in an emergency.

The responsible landlord’s arrangements and contact details for urgent property problems, including outside support hours, must be confirmed before a placement. Residents should use the emergency contacts supplied for their accommodation.

Staff training & development

Informed support.
Thoughtful practice.

We are committed to developing the knowledge and skills needed to support residents with dignity, compassion and professionalism.

Learning shaped around residents’ needs

Our planned approach includes induction, relevant training and refresher learning in safeguarding, mental health and trauma awareness, substance recovery, housing safety, confidentiality and professional boundaries.

Supervision & reflection

Supervision and reflective practice will help staff discuss concerns and identify further learning. Training and supervision arrangements will be established before staff take on the relevant responsibilities.

Referrals & professional enquiries

Better futures begin
with a conversation.

We welcome enquiries from local authority and housing teams, probation and resettlement services, healthcare professionals and voluntary organisations, as well as individuals and their representatives. Our intended service supports adults aged 18 and over who need a stable home and visiting support.

01

Initial enquiry

Email or call us with your contact details and a brief outline of the enquiry. Please avoid sending medical records, identification documents or detailed personal histories at this stage.

02

Discuss needs

Discuss the person’s circumstances, housing support needs and goals. Before sharing detailed information, agree an appropriate route and any permissions needed.

03

Assess suitability

Review availability, funding eligibility, compatibility with other residents and whether scheduled visits can meet the person’s assessed needs, including any additional services required.

04

Agree next steps

If a suitable placement is available, clarify responsibilities, support arrangements and the information needed before proceeding. If we cannot offer a placement, discuss possible next steps.

Every enquiry is assessed individually. A placement can proceed only once suitability, availability and support arrangements are confirmed. Read who we support.

Referral enquiry

Start with a conversation.

Ask about availability or discuss a possible referral. A short general overview is enough to begin.

Please include only your own contact details and a brief general outline. For referrals, please leave out the person’s name, health history and identification documents until we agree a suitable way to share information.
